Behind the Bean:
Situated at 1200 masl. in Minas Gerais, Brazil, the Capetinga farm is managed by third-generation coffee producer Daniel Garcia Caldeira. Of its 220 hectares, 180 are devoted to cultivating Acaia, Topázio, Yellow and Red Catuai, Arara and Mundo Novo varietals. The farm also supports cattle and horses, contributing to its broader agricultural character.
We’ve always loved our Brazilian specialty coffees, so we make sure there’s always one in our lineup. This particular lot might surprise you—with a cup score of 84, it delivers a beautifully balanced and satisfying cup.
From the moment we ground the beans, subtle hints of rosemary came through. As a filter brew, it opens up with notes of caramel, nuts, and plum. Our favourite way to enjoy it, though, is in milk-based espresso drinks. It cuts through milk effortlessly, producing a smooth, sweet cup layered with rich caramel, while a gentle plum-like acidity adds just the right amount of brightness.
