Behind the Bean:
The Nyabirongo community in Uganda is renowned for its high quality coffee, particularly the anaerobic naturals. This coffee is sourced from smallholder farmers who handpick ripe cherries and undergo a natural drying process.
The cherries are placed in water for 48 hours before being turned by hand to ensure even drying, which is crucial for developing the coffee’s flavours. The dried cherries are then hulled, cleaned and sorted in the Dry Mill before being bagged in Grainpro bags
We’ve always had a soft spot for Ugandan coffees — and this exceptional lot is no different. Scoring 85 on the cupping table, it delivers a beautifully fruit-forward profile with clarity and impressive balance. As a filter brew, expect notes of raisin and juicy passion fruit. Pulled as an espresso and paired with milk, it truly shines — creating a stellar flat white that’s bold, creamy, and smooth, with subtle hints of raisin and passion fruit lingering through each sip.
